ICS2 EU regulations update

Dear Valued Customers,

We would like to update you that the European Union (E.U.) has implemented a new customs pre-arrival security and safety process, supported by Import Control System 2 (ICS2), which will replace the current regulation ICS1.

This new process will support effective risk-based customs controls whilst facilitating free flow of legitimate trade across the EU external borders.

Starting from June 2024 a mandatory risk assessment at both pre-loading and pre-arrival stages will be required, therefore requiring providing additional mandatory information as part of the shipping instruction:

  • 6-digit Harmonized System Code.
  • Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI) of the consignee (EU shipments only).
  • Full address of the EU BL parties including P.O. Box Number, Postal Code, Sub-division Code.
  • Actual Shipper / Receiver of the cargo – therefore the House BL is a new requirement, like USA / Canada.
  • Place of cargo Receipt (In-case of a HBL involved).

In order to support you to do your business with us more easily, we are in the process of updating our system to match the requirements, capture and process mandatory information and support our customers with ENS submissions.

Sincerely,
