Terminal Handling Charges
Terminal Handling Charges (THC) are the charges collected by Terminal authorities at each Port for handling equipment in relation to loading and discharging of containers. THC varies Port to Port for each country, as the cost of handling at each Port differs from one Port to another and depends on the total cost of Port terminal handling at each location.
Normally, Terminal Handling Charges (THC) for Export is collected from Shipper by Carriers while releasing Bill of Lading after completion of Export Customs clearance procedures. The Import Terminal Handling Charges are collected by Carriers at the time of issuing Delivery Order to consignee prior to taking delivery of goods.;
