New Regulation for Import to Egypt

Dear Valued Customers,
We have been advised regarding a new Egyptian Customs regulation named Advanced Cargo Information (ACI), which requires that the Egyptian Importer will register his expected shipment with the new Egyptian Customs system before the cargo is loaded at the Port of Loading.
The Egyptian Customs will review the shipment information and upon approval will provide an Advanced Cargo Information Declaration (ACID) number to the Egyptian Importer, who must forward this number to his shipper.

The above regulation will be mandatory for all shipments to Egypt for which the sailing date from the original Port of Loading is on / after October 1st, 2021.
Therefore, all relevant Shipping Instructions must include the following details:
1. Advance Cargo Information Declaration (ACID) number.
Each ACID number is valid for 3 months from the registration date, and each shipment must have its own number. For the BL to be released, the ACID number must be valid according to local regulations.
2. Shipper’s VAT number or Company registration number.
3. Egyptian Consignee’s VAT number.

Please note that any Shipping Instructions received without the above details will be rejected and Cargo will not be loaded.
It is up to the Shipper’s responsibility to provide the valid Advance Cargo Information Declaration (ACID) number. If the number is not valid, the cargo will not be discharged in Egypt and will remain onboard. All expenses related to the above scenarios will be charged to the Shipper’s account.
