Further to the below requirements of the Chinese Authorities when shipping Scrap Material to their country, we would like to make the following amendments to our original instruction:
•Instead of the below documents, the Booking Agent must first apply to the Chinese POD and advise all relevant details of the booking – including the receivers contact details.
•The Chinese POD will contact the receiver and ensure they have all relevant documents and confirm the same back to the Booking Agent.
•At this point, the Booking Agent may confirm the booking.
•For clients who ship Scrap Materials on a regular basis (and have been approved by the marketing team as a good supporter of Zim and reliable partner in this trade), we can apply to the Chinese POD once, receive confirmation and then they may continue to book scrap cargo against a letter of indemnity and there will be no need to apply to the Chinese POD for a period of 6 months.
