Meet ZIM’s Reefer World
The Team Behind our Reefers
At ZIM, we know that handling refrigerated cargo demands delicate care and specialized expertise. Our solution for refrigerated cargo involves a dedicated global service team, ensuring personalized assistance and close monitoring of your cargo to provide the best possible outcome.
All you need to know about our Reefer Services
Typically, our refrigerated units can store cargo at a temperature range from 30℃ to -30℃. Our technology enables you to maintain the freshness of the cargo even in extreme high or low external temperatures.
With a temperature and humidity sensor, required levels can be maintained and monitored within the refrigerated units. This sensor is attached close to the unit where manual settings can be regulated according to the cargo’s temperature requirements.
Our ZIMonitor online application provides a 360 view of your cargo during every leg of its voyage. This includes temperature, humidity data, GPS tracking, route deviations, and comprehensive end-of-voyage reports, all available in your Personal Area on myZIM.
Our units are designed to maintain a specific temperature range inside the container. They come equipped with a monitoring system to ensure that the cargo remains at the desired temperature throughout its journey. Our team makes sure that units carrying sensitive, chilled, or frozen cargo are always plugged to their power source, from depot, at the terminal, on board the vessel, and across land transportation to its final destination.
To ensure the safe transportation of refrigerated cargo, it is important to properly package and label the cargo, monitor the temperature and humidity levels throughout the journey, and take appropriate measures to prevent damage or spoilage during transit.
Additionally, load the container properly to allow good air circulation, be careful of overstuffing the container as this can lead to cold spots.
