Fertilizer in bulk in a DV Container
It is highly preferred to stuff the cargo in bags or big-bags instead of in bulk.
1. If the fertilizer is classified as a Dangerous Goods cargo according to IMDG code:
1.1. Cargo may be accepted only in a Certified Closed Bulk Container (BK2) – a Customer's Own Container.
1.2. Before the first shipment, ZIM's Agent should receive MSDS, BK2 container's certificate and stuffing method including photos/videos of a similar cargo.
2. If the fertilizer is classified as a Non-Dangerous Goods cargo:
2.1. In case of bulk stuffing, it is preferred to stuff Cargo using a conveyor belt.
2.2. The Cargo is stuffed in a Bulk Container Liner, in order to minimize damage to the container.
2.3. A bulkhead should be used in order to avoid the Cargo from leaning on the container's doors.
2.4. It is forbidden to weld the bulkhead to the container sides.
