Dear ZIM Customer,
As you may have seen in recent news, the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) have reached a tentative agreement on a new six-year master contract, preventing a strike related to USEC and Gulf ports.
While this is welcome news, we want to caution you that ILA Members still needs to vote on and ratify the new contract before it becomes official. Both parties have agreed to continue operating under the current contract until the new deal is ratified.
For further details, kindly contact ZIM local Sales.
Sincerely,ZIM Integrated Shipping 閱讀更多

Dear ZIM Customer,We would like to further update you that as of this date, labor negotiations between the ILA and the USMX remain unresolved. While a tentative agreement was reached in October 2024 this is set to expire on January 15, 2025.
Our teams continue to explore contingency plans to reduce the potential impacts should a labor disruption occur. While a strike may be imminent, you may be able to minimize its impact on your business by noting the following:
All import customers are strongly encouraged to clear all containers from the USEC and Gulf Ports not later than Tuesday, January 15, 2025.
ZIM will continue accepting Dry bookings as usual. However, as disruption might influence the terminal’s ability to monitor reefer and special cargo, reefer and special cargo export bookings from the USEC and Gulf Ports will not be accepted as of Friday, January 10, 2025.
Following our previous message dated December 18, 2024, please be advised that the below announced ILA Strike Surcharge for all cargo moving to or from US East Coast/US Gulf ports, will be charged on containers gated in on or after January 16, 2025, as detailed below:ZIM will begin to charge customers if their containers gated in on or after January 16, 2025. This charge is port specific and will terminate when the ILA resumes normal working operations at each USEC and Gulf Port where the cargo was loaded or discharged. If no disruption occurs, the ILA strike surcharge will not apply. The above charge is in addition to the applicable base freight charges, THC, bunker, ESS and security-related charges which are provided in ZIM's Tariff Calculator, (U.S. trades are provided in www.boterates.com User: ZfreA6 Password: Access16!) as well as other charges for additional services, local charges and contingency charges, subject to monthly review and update.
For further details, kindly contact ZIM local Sales team.
Sincerely,ZIM Integrated Shipping

Dear Valued Customers,
We wish to inform you about a new regulation by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which has designated the Mediterranean Sea as an Emission Control Area (ECA), which will be coming into effect on May 1st, 2025. The designation means that as of May 1, 2025, all vessels operating at the Mediterranean Sea will be required to use marine fuel with a Sulphur content of 0.1% (MDO), instead of the current level of 0.5% (VLSFO).
At ZIM, we are committed to ensuring compliance with all regulations, while continuing to offer reliable and efficient shipping services.
Compliance with this new regulation is expected to result in increased bunker costs for ZIM, as well as an increase in related charges to our customers. An additional advisory with the updated charges will be provided by April 2025.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we work together to address the global challenge of climate change and compliance with all laws and regulations.
If you have any questions, please contact our customer service or your account manager.
Thank you for choosing ZIM for your shipping needs.
Sincerely,
