War Risk Premium Charge - Update

ZIM continues its operations to and from Israel and is accepting bookings as always.
Despite the war situation in Israel, all local terminals in Ashdod, Haifa and Eilat are functioning as usual, with some limitations on DG cargo that will be handled by our professional teams on a case-by-case basis.

Service interruptions may occur on short notice due to safety guidelines dictated by Israeli authorities. In such cases, we will provide additional updates.

Considering the ongoing war situation, as well as the additional war risk insurance premium insurers imposed on all vessels calling Israeli ports, ZIM is obligated to continue paying this premium to maintain service to and from Israel.

ZIM War Risk Premium (WRP) surcharge for cargo to/from Israel, will be updated effective from the gate-in date of November 22nd:

Line/Service War risk premium Surcharge
MGX, SAM, ZCA $100/TEU
TBX, LBX, ZMP $80/TEU
ZNI $50/TEU
TYR $40/TEU
ADE $25/TEU

  • The above updated war risk premium surcharge will apply to cargo gated in on or after November 22nd. Cargo gated in before will be charged as per surcharge announced on October 12th (click here to view the advisory)
  • The war risk surcharge of USD 5/CBM will apply to car shipments from November 21st.
  • As advised by our insurers, the war risk premium surcharge is subject to changes every 24 hours. Therefore, we will update the war risk premium surcharge as per these changes.

ZIM is fully committed to ensuring a consistent and reliable service to and from Israel while taking all necessary measures to meet our customers' needs during these challenging times. We will keep you updated on future developments.
