Import and Transshipment of Crab Meat to Korea

We would like to advise all our Customers that the Government of Korea has announced they are amending current relevant laws to allow Port and State inspections in order to prevent and eliminate IUU (Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated) fishing.

As of January 31st, 2014 The amended law has become applicable to all vessels in Korean Ports with fish or fishery products caught in waters outside Korea’s jurisdiction.

Therefore for any local import or transshipment cargo containing  Snow Crabs and King Crabs or the processed products from these crab species , our Korean agents must provide  a copy of the Certificate of Origin together with their Vessel Entry Notification.

Therefore we ask that you provide your local ZIM agent with a copy of your Certificate of Origin for any Crab Meat cargo being imported or transshipped in any Korean Port.
We appreciate your cooperation. Should you have any questions, please contact your local ZIM agent who will be happy to assist.
