In order to help you process your shipments as smoothly as possible, we would like to bring to your attention that the Panama Customs Authorities now require the following information on all Bills of Lading covering shipments transshipped via a Panama port:
· Email address & ID number of the shipper (Tax number also acceptable).
· Merchandise reading: Merchandise such as shelving, chairs, tables, or other furniture must specify if it contains metal, PVC, etc.
o If merchandise contains wood or MDF, our Panama agent will be required to process an import license in Panama in order for the shipment to be railed to Panama Port at Cristobal.
o If the shipper is unable to specify the cargo on the Bill of Lading, please provide a packing list in order to prevent the cargo being held by the Customs Department or being left onboard due to lack of required information.
· Please note that the following ports are serviced via Panama:
o Puerto Cabello
o La Guaira
o El Guamache
If you have a question about this regulation or you would like further clarification, please be in contact and we will be happy to assist you.
